Salihah Central Partners With Rohingya Cultural Center
Salihah Central is pleased to announce its partnership with the Rohingya Cultural Center. As we take the time to learn more about the stories of each member of this community, we can’t help but wonder ‘how can we help?’ With the Rohingya Cultural Center being a new community in Chicago’s northside, opportunities for both our communities to correspond is limitless. With that being said, we have come up with two ways in which our communities can learn from each other and how families can help.

Whether you have a box you are donating or not, all are welcome to introduce themselves to our Muslim neighbors would love to see and know of your support. Visits are meant to be short and sweet with an optional outdoor visit; of course masks are required and the majority of the Rohingya community has been vaccinated. More opportunities for working together and donating are forthcoming insha’Allah.
#2. Pen Pal Student Collaboration
Collaboration between students of two communities opens our horizons, breaks down barriers, and promotes understanding as we all work towards the same goal of striving towards good. Here is how the Pen Pal Collaboration Project works:
Write The Letter
Each community classroom will write letters to the corresponding/partner community.
Mail The Letter
The letters will be mailed to each corresponding community and responses will be mailed back.
Meet and Greet
After two or three letters have been exchanged, the classrooms will meet with each other at a Collaboration Fair. The project will be facilitated by an adult/teacher. The duration of this project will be one month.
